Trip Cancellation Insurance Recommended - In order to protect yourself against unforeseen circumstances interfering with you vacation, we strongly suggest that you purchase trip cancellation insurance. You can use any travel insurance company you are comfortable with. As members of the Dude Ranchers Association, we recommend Travel Guard. Their toll-free number is 1-877-216-4885. Be sure to tell them DRA ref.# 43028
The Red Reflet Guest Ranch will send all guests a detailed pre-registration form and questionnaire to get everything just right for your stay. This is another way the Red Reflet Guest Ranch is unlike any other Dude Ranch Vacation.
Use of Ranch property and Equipment
Guests at the Red Reflet Guest Ranch have the unlimited use of all the facilities and equipment. Staff will always provide an introductory exposure to horse riding, ATV's, dirt bikes, or any other equipment before turning guests loose or leading them on more advanced courses or trails. The philosophy is to permit guests to ride horses, ATV's, dirt bikes, as much as they desire, on their schedule, and at levels they are able to handle comfortably and competently. Ranch guests are responsible for the equipment thye use and will be liable for damages. The Ranch management reserves the right to withdraw the use of any equipment used in an unsafe manner or without due courtesy. The Ranch requires a release from liability from Guests before using Ranch equipment.
Dogs, Cats and other Pets
There are 5 permanent residences on the Red Reflet Ranch and everyone seems to have their collection of pets. A moderate balance of territories comes to pass over time with all these pets, but guests or Summer Interns bringing their pets quickly upsets this balance, therefore, we ask PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THE Red Reflet Ranch.
It is possible to bring your own horse to the Red Reflet Ranch, but Wyoming law requires certain shots and vet certificates. Please call for details and we will help you comply.
Is the Red Reflet Guest Ranch a "Dude Ranch, Guest Ranch, Ranch/Resort/Spa?
While the terms “Dude” and “Guest” Ranch may be used interchangeably, the “Dude” term has less attractive implications of a ‘green horn”, cowboy 'wannabe', and a bit of an uncouth visitor from ‘back east’.
We prefer the “Guest Ranch” term. We want our customers to feel like guests, we work to have our staff treat customers like they are guests and part of the family. Our ambition and hope with guests is to have them experience Western life as it exists on a working horse and cattle ranch, a lifestyle and self-sufficiency that is unique to Wyoming and our beautiful landscapes, where we have few neighbors, yet a sense of community that once was common but now all too scarce in America.
The Red Reflet Guest Ranch is also a bit of a Resort with so many amenities, but it was never intended to be like a Private Resort. It was intended to be a Ranch with many, many things to do with your family and friends, new activities to try, new places to explore. There is a strong feeling that everyone should ride horses and explore as much of the Ranch as possible by horseback, but this is not required. In fact, the major emphasis for guests is three-fold: 1. Try as many new activities as possible; 2. Do what you like, when you want, for as long as you would like; and 3. Never worry about incurring a bill or extra charge for doing Ranch activities, as everything (or just about) is included.
Normal and Customary around the Red Reflet Guest Ranch
Bob and Laurence want every guest to feel special and receive personalized treatment at the Ranch. Most of the staff and Bob and Laurence live on the Ranch all year; it is their permanent home. Everyone on the Ranch want you to be treated as a guest of their home. We are hoping to show you everything we can about life on a working cattle and horse ranch. One way this is accomplished is with guests meeting all the ranch staff when there is a full staff lunch. You will find everyone ready to talk about their part in the ranch work-load, the tasks at hand, and the upcoming chores.
Ranch dinners usually are tailored to the guests’ desires and references as they have indicated on the advance registration form sent prior to arrival. Normally dinners are with Bob and Laurence and other guests and staff members. Private dinners can be arranged. Dinners usually begin at 7:30pm in the Lodge with appetizers and beverages and a chance to review the activities of the day and begin plans for the next day. Dinner is served around 8pm. There are several dinner options, like dinner at the Mountain Cabin, wagon-ride dinner combinations on the upper Ranch, rodeo and Barbeque dinners, and even private dinners in the Chalet. All of these will be planned with guests to meet their desires and show them different facets of the Ranch.
We really are a Guest Ranch unlike any other! We strive to be World Class, super Deluxe, and uniquely Western in every way. Our promise to you is a very special, and memorable experience.
